6:30 pm on the World Music Stage, Eddie Palmieri Afro-Caribbean All Stars @ Houston International Festival

Just read this on Brian Lynch's site. I hadn't really looked at the iFest lineup this year (end-of-the semester/degree crunch and all). I sure hope to be able to break away to go!

This was great, BTW. I really enjoyed everyone's playing. It's like the rain stopped for this set, too. Thank God!

Probably IMHO the best performance of the year.

it was a good show, full of fun. Anyone know the music scholar/author's name that Mr. Palmieri mentioned a few times as being there?

Brother Gabbo. I know that you didn't create the article which you are making reference. I could agree with part of the article with you are making reference but I disagrre with the part in reference to 'Los Munequitos de Matanzas'. These group were already well known with the audience which like this type of music, long time ago, (including in the U. S.). Los Munequitos de Matanzas, have been touring with the 'Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba', many times, ( when I was still in Cuba), and their music have been out since the late 1950's and all the foreign people which like Cuban 'tumbadoras', and went to Cuba were facing that type of music in Cuba, the 'rumberos' in New York, were getting those recording too, (as they have been expressing themselves). Your brother, Gerry Zaragemca
