Here's a last minute notification about a show that I am not promoting but am very excited about. Steve Lacy will be in Austin this Wednesday (the 22nd) with his rhythm section and ROSWELL RUDD on trombone! Roswell is my hero, so I'm pretty hyped. Check out their new CD "Monk's Dream" on Verve. The show is at the Continental Club . . . two sets, $20 each.

Another show I'm not promoting, Peter Kowald (from Germany) at Notsuoh on April 9th. Kowald is one of the premiere avant garde bass players . . . He has played with Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Peter Brotzman, Leo Smith, etc. Kurt from Sound Exchange is promoting it. For information, people can call 713-666-5555.
