You saw her for years frontin' the Ronnie Renfrow Big Band. You've seen her smokin' blues group. Now see Gloria Edwards Mills in her latest role, music store owner! Here's her lastest update:
Hi, Gang;
Well, Monday will be official opening date for the
The Music Shoppe. We decided not to put anything
in reference to the blues in the name of the store.
We have 1,000's of videos of all kind (smile). The
previous owner had a video rental store. We aren't
sure that we will continue to rent.
Next week, will be the opening week and we will
sell many of the videos on file, including all of
the Adults. I do not want that kind of material
around the kids. The room which is the adult viewing
room will be a listening room and we will have players
as well as a TV for viewing music videos.
The location is 1375 W. Gulf Bank in the shopping strip on the corner
of West Gulf Bank and Veterans Memorial.
We will have CD's, Cassettes, music videos, Karoake
CD's and cassettes, music supplies, guitar strings,
bass, reeds, oil, harmonicas and paper supplies,
including fake books, manuscript paper, composition
books, etc.
Later we will have classes on Saturday for students
and I will need help! I believe that this will be
a great venue to feature local musicians music and
they receive payment for their efforts and talent.
The hours will be
11:00 AM until 7:00 PM, Monday thru Thursday
11:00 AM until 8:00 PM Friday and Saturday
01:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sundays.
We plan to have a live remote from the Music
Shoppe on 101.3(?) next Saturday. I hope
that we will have a good turn out of Musicians. Maybe we can have a live jam!

P.S. Please also let everyone
know that they may exhibit some of their own
music at the Shoppe. We have not finished
putting in all of the stands, etc, but, as
soon as we do, I will have an area for local
recordings and videos! We can work out some
type of contract giving us the license to sell
their product.
