Get ready for some great jazz, Houston. It's time once again for The Houston Intertational Jazz Festival to commence.

Houston International Jazz Festival

The 10th Annual Houston Jazz Festival's "Week-end of Jazz" will be held on August 4-6, 2000. Since its inception in 1990, the Festival has placed Houston in the spotlight as the site of the nation's only Jazz Festival focusing on international Jazz musicians.

Friday, August 4th - the Festival kicks off at the "Reflection Pool" in front of City Hall in downtown Houston with a free lunchtime concert (11am - 2pm) .

FREE ALL DAY.  The relaxed outdoor atmosphere encourages the spontaneous collaboration spirit of a jam session and whets the appetite for Saturday and Sunday's performances. .

Saturday, August 5th - the Festival continues (Reflection Pool - City Hall) from 5pm - midnight.

The event invites the whole family to a unique green oasis nestled downtown amid Houston's prominent skyscrapers.  The evening's experience is complete with a wide variety of great foods, beverages and arts and crafts vendors.

Sunday, August 6th - is your opportunity to have brunch with the mayor! The Mayor's Jazz Brunch will be held 11am - 2pm location Hyatt Regency Downtown, featuring Stanley Turrentine with the Summer Jazz Workshop All-Stars.  The Brunch is an international toast to the Festival.  With a tasteful champagne brunch buffet, Jazz aficionados dine with headliner performers from Saturday's Festival.  And, yes!  The mayor will be there!
